Introductory Blog

Hello everyone,

My name is Adrian Yip, and as of the creation of this blog, I am a second- year student majoring in Economics studying at Queen’s University. I enjoy listening to music and playing the bass guitar in my free time and although I have only been once, I have developed a great interest in scuba open water diving.

I am interested in employment relations because I like having good relations with people, whether it be personal or professional relationships. An idea I always grew up with was to always try and keep as many friends as possible. It’s always better to be around a friendly face or environment. However, one thing I’ve always struggled with was creating these relationships and achieving a stage where there was a mutual friendship. Although I’ve had good relationships as in I do not cause trouble or disappoint my peers and seniors, I often hoped I could have earned an extra level of trust with people. Therefore, through this course, I want to better understand the dynamics of relationships in a professional environment and how to achieve my goal.

  2. Relationships are extremely important when it comes to the context of employment.
This course will serve you justice when it comes to those dynamics, law, and policies that surround that!

I hope you enjoy the course!

  3. Hi Adrian,

Interesting post, it’s brave of you to post about your weaknesses and how you seek to better them. I hope that I as well can use this course to gain a better understanding of relationships in the work-place.
